Gregoire started DJ’ing in 1994 when he was still in school in Paris. He took his love for electronic music from the likes of Jean-Michel Jarre, Bomb The Bass, New Order, Front 242, and Cerrone just to name a few. With these musical influences he began to develop his love for techno, breaks and house.
From the bedroom to house parties, Gregoire quickly became a guest of choice.
In 1999 Gregoire moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, taking his decks and records with him picking up residencies in bars such as 'Echo', running his own night called 'Sunday Bloody Sunday', The Club House, Soho Loft where he was resident and event organizer.
It was not long before he was making waves in the club scene and was invited to take on a weekly residency at the infamous club 'Movement' giving him the chance to develop his skills further, not only with his own nights but supporting acts like Rhythm Masters and Jamie Anderson.
With a boom in the nightlife scene he was one of the leading DJ’s to break into the fledgling outdoor Raves playing at all of the top outdoor jungle raves and as a result picking up residencies in the slick and uber cool “Carbon” club. Playing at Carbon gave him the opportunity to get deeper into the techfunk and house that he loves most with a Friday night residency he successfully created and managed, developing a vibe that guaranteed him a place at the top of Malaysia’s DJ list, and giving him the opportunity to supporting acts such as Inland Knights, Dano & JZ (Red Melon), Gary White(Slinky), Tom Parris and more.
When the first true super-club “Twelve SI” opened in Kuala Lumpur Gregoire was hired as a resident Dj and worked his way up until he took charge of the bookings for the club and was the number 1 resident in Atmosphere that have previously hosting 'Faithless', Ministry of Sound, Renaissance, Pacha, Privilege, Smokin Jo , Lisa Lashes , Lottie, Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Laurent Garnier, Judge Jules, Kevin Saunderson, Technasia, Wet music, Renato Cohen, Sonique, BT, Benny Benassi, Tall Paul, Spiller, Dimitri from Paris, DJ Deep, Roy Davis Jr, Nicky Siano , Respect is burning, Neil Aline , Norman Jay , and many many more. No matter which artist is playing, Greg injects a vibe that the crowd continues to lap up. His mixture of sexy techy house vibes makes sure that everyone has a fantastic night.
In addition to running the DJ’s and Entertainment at Twelve SI Greg also co-produced the Twelve SI radio show every Saturday night on the local dance radio station, red 104.9 fm.
Regionally Gregoire has played for TABOO fashion Show in Manila, the handover party celebration (Club ING) in Hong Kong, Scream Party at the infamous 2nd Floor in Taiwan, the official F1 after party at Dino Beach in Shanghai, China and most recently he has performed in Tokyo for Global Underground @ Club AIR, delivering an awesome set that got him booked again for the same venue on Stephane K’s very own night and got him to be book to play with Peter Hook from NEW ORDER this coming 14th April ..
Gregoire has now developed a style that is definitely one for the ladies and the funksters who love some dancefloor action. His love for soul and all things funky has made a good impact on the sound that is coming out of Kuala Lumpur today – house and techno 'a la' French. |

With a pedigree that stretches back over thirteen years, the Groovedoctor has played a seminal role in the development of club culture in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From the boardroom to the dancefloor, he’s done it all. Starting off his career in 1990, the good doctor began experimenting with dance music at a time where soul and R&B were the dominant genres in the local clubscene. Sticking to his House music roots, the pioneering Groovedoctor has since carved a reputation as Malaysia’s leading club DJ, even picking up the title of ‘Best Local DJ 2002’, from local lifestyle magazine – Juice. His career, not only restricted to the clubs, saw him moving to the other side of the fence in 1998, to an advertising agency where he helped establish the roots of KLs club culture. Through his consultation on club culture and public relations skills for sponsored club events, this has helped pave the way for what is now considered one of the world’s premier clubbing scenes.
With a style that ranges from flamboyantly UK and US inspired Tech and Disco House grooves to darker, deeper tribal material at the hardest end of the spectrum, a Groovedoctor set will always have the dancefloor pumping and pulsating with the elements most important to him – funk and groove. Not surprising for a DJ who names such dance music greats as Todd Terry, Sven Vath and Danny Tenaglia as influences. Whatever your musical tastes run to, you’ll never be disappointed by the man’s fluid moves and breath-taking inventiveness.
The good doctor has administered therapy to thousands of clubbers at such seminal (now defunct) venues in Kuala Lumpur such as the Boom Boom Room, Movement and Carbon which helped introduce the Malaysian club market to club culture. In KL currently, he prefers to be resident nowhere, while still playing at major events and club venues such as Nouvo, Bliss, Frangipani, Atmosphere, Emporium, Liquid, The Disco and The Backroom.
Besides playing at almost every club and event in KL clubbing history, Groove currently travels the region, providing his groovy recipe of dancefloor madness to clubbers in Bangkok, Jakarta, Bali and Brunei. Groove was also the first Malaysian DJ to be invited to play on US soil at the infamous Red Melon party in San Francisco. Playing alongside tech house luminaries from the Red Melon stable, Dano and Jay Z, Groove headlined the event delivering his trademark brand of quality house grooves.
Always one to push the dance music envelope, Groove pioneered back-to-back DJ sets with fellow DJ cohort - Gabriel and his pioneering collaboration as Vise, with award-winning local musician Haze, was the first of its kind in the DJ/Live act category in Malaysia back in 1999. He is currently endorsing Yamaha Music’s RS 7000 sampler / sequencer / synth unit where he is continuing to expand his DJ sets to offer clubbers more groovy madness.
A true visionary, the groove worker is never one to rest on his laurels, with his own productions & events coming up towards end of the year and more international gigs coming up in 2003, expect more groovy-ness from this deck operator.
Dance music is about enjoyment; with an MD in beat surgery the Groovedoctor knows it better than anyone. |

Started djing aged 18 in January 2004 with an avid interest in pounding percussive techno beats, he learned how to express his music implementing a driving touch the way he desired to build his sets. Making it to the semi-finals of the juice dj quest 2004 competition his career kickstarted at The Backroom in March 2005 as one of the residents, the perfect club for his dark, driving sound.
Following his disappointing early exit of the 2004 Vestax Extravaganza mixing category dj competition, he was undeterred and determined to make his name in club land and with a fusion of techno and uplifting trance music he honed his skills at The Backroom handling many genres of music following the club's music policy changes, ranging from trance, progressive, funky house, techno and hard house.
Later aged a mere 20 he moved on to become the new resident at TwelveSI , churning out pumping, funky vocal house at Blissthelounge as well as performing occasionally in the mainroom, AtmospheretheClub. Has warmed up for big acts, to name a few; Alex Taylor ,Mandy Rollins,Jake Kilby and Gomi and built his steady regular warm up and later main sets for Saturday's DivineBliss and Sunday's Blissboys nights.
Ian's musical influences include Erick Morillo,Alex Calver,Marco V,Equinox,Judge Jules,Armin van Burren,Robbie Rivera,Roger Sanchez and Seb Fontaine. |

With a DJ career that spans more than ten years, Jungle Jerry has achieved the distinction of being the ‘Maestro of Mix’ within Malaysia’s Club scene. Commencing his career as resident DJ at Fire in Kuala Lumpur, he has been instrumental in transforming the expectations and standards of DJing in Malaysia and is responsible for elevating audience experience and expectations within the local club scene.
A lifetime love and appreciation of music coupled with a fascination of all that is associated with the music scene, has firmly established Jungle Jerry as the pacesetter for a new generation of DJ’s in Malaysia. He has been greatly influenced by the sounds of Danny Tenaglia. As a member of Disco Mix Club UK (DMC) he has participated in the Technics Malaysian DMC Malaysia competition where he was placed as finalist in 1997 and second runner-up in 1996 and 1998.
Club residencies include Silhouette, Underground, Energy, twelveSI, Elements and Backroom all located in Kuala Lumpur, where he spins his signature House, Tech House and Tribal House mixes. The influence of the multi-cultural and ethnic aspects of Malaysian life have been instrumental in Jungle Jerry developing a music style that emulates a deep rooted sensitivity with his multi-ethnic house style mixes.
In Malaysia, Jungle Jerry has played alongside international DJ’s including: Paul Oakenfold, Robbie Nelson and Tom Wainright (Gatecrasher, 1999), Ashley Casselle and Guy Ornadel, (Gatecrasher 2000), Ministry of Sound, Rocky – Xpress 2, K-Klass, Slacker, Cosmo, and Ninja Tunes – Strictly Kev and Vadim, 16B and Desyn Maseillo (UK), Derrick May, DJ Disciple (USA) and Bob Sinclair, DJ Yellow, DJ Cam, Hipp-e and Halo (H- Foundation) (France).
Jungle Jerry has a large following both locally and internationally. Widely in demand, his international experience includes three Tours (Germany, Indonesia and Japan) with two more Tours scheduled for 2003 in Barcelona (October/November) and Germany (December). He has also performed about twenty occasions in a number of other countries (Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai-China, Japan and Germany) with other highly acclaimed DJ’s.
The German Tour included Clubs like VMF, Gerbustag Club, Muna during Christmas Eve 2001, Hoppe Tosse Boat Party during New Years Eve 2001 and performing at the Casino Club during Paul Van Dyk’s Birthday Party (VANDIT). He also had the distinction of representing Malaysia in the Winter Music Conference 2000 and 2001 in Miami, Florida, USA.
In addition, Jungle Jerry is the owner of Backspin Records, the leading DJ vinyl record store in Kuala Lumpur that also incorporates a DJ school. Backspin Records also promotes and brings well-known international DJ’s to Malaysia. The “Eastern Elements” Tour, which focuses on exchanging regional DJ’s from Singapore, Shanghai and Hong Kong was Jerry’s brainchild - his aim being to successfully promote Asian DJ’s to the world.
Jungle Jerry has been an artist on two albums “Naughtius Maximus” and “Tricks & Tales.“ He made a natural transgression into production with the release of the first Malaysian Dance Album titled “Presence KL01 … a true look at” in 2002, and more recently “Presence KL02 … moving on.” Two tracks from the latter have been very successful with “Heart of Dreaming” achieving Hit#1 on Hitz.FM’s Dance Charts and “Music is my Life” currently climbing the Hitz.FM Charts.
In August 2003, Jungle Jerry achieved the feat of executing the first-time ever “24-hour non-stop vinyl mixing challenge” for the Malaysia Book of Records. Held at Atmosphere, twelveSI, he had to perform non-stop from 9pm 1 August 2003 until 9pm 2 August 2003, but managed to end the attempt successfully with the first-ever Malaysia Record. Another distinction is his endorsement by ALESIS, an American Studio Sound Equipment Brand.
As a well known personality, Jungle Jerry has featured in approximately twenty published articles in a number of regional publications from 1998 to the present and multiple times in a large number of websites including MTV Asia (www.mtvasia.com), Nuphorik (www.nuphorik.net), Asiahype.com (www.asiahype.com) and Activate your Life – Maxis (www.activateyourlife.com.my). |

As the opening bars of Smart E's "Sesame's Treat" met his ears Kurt Jo, a fresh-face youth of 12, was hopelessly addicted to techno & electronica music and by the end of the song he had decided to become a DJ. Now, years later Kurt has made a name for himself as DJ Fat Jo, not only on the Hawaiian island of Maui where he was born and raised, but in his newly adopted home of New York City. From just pretending to be a DJ in his bedroom as a child, to doing 8th grade dances, Fat Jo followed his dream of becoming a DJ to eventually landing an internship at KPMW/Wild 105.5 FM on Maui. Here he was able to learn the skills that eventually earned him two of his own mixshows at the station: The “Wild Workout At Noon" and "Planet House" as well as an On-Air jock position as host of the #1 listened to "Between The Sheets.” In addition to his radio work, Fat Jo held residency at one of Maui’s top Night Clubs: Hapa's, (where his popular night "Ultra Fabulous Tuesday’s/Fat Tuesday's" was voted "Maui's Best Theme night” in 2005) and also made appearances at two other of Maui's hot party spots: Tsunami’s and Spats. Having mixes featured on the east coast’s Super 91.7 WMPH, nationally broadcast Sirius Satellite Radio and planning an Asian club tour, Fat Jo now lives in Manhattan and spins regularly at the Living Room Lounge where he introduces the people of New York City to his "Island-Style" all while continuing to bring the hottest beats, through KPMW, to his home Island of Maui. |
